Brake symptoms Dubai drivers bring to us

If you searched for brake pads replacement near me from Al Quoz or Al Barsha, you probably noticed one of these. Each has more than one cause, so we check before we replace:

Send the model and the symptom on WhatsApp 054 666 4838; a short video of the noise helps.

How we inspect brakes before we replace anything

1. Road test and scan

We drive the car to feel what you feel, then read the ABS and brake modules for stored faults.

2. Wheels off, everything measured

Pad thickness at every wheel, disc thickness against the minimum stamped on the disc, run-out where the steering shakes, and the caliper slides, pistons and hoses. Looking through the wheel is a guess; measuring with the wheel off is a brake inspection.

3. Brake fluid tested

Brake fluid absorbs moisture, and in Dubai heat that moisture boils under hard braking so the pedal goes soft. We test the fluid rather than changing it on a calendar.

4. Parking brake and the rest of the brake system

Parking brake actuators and shoes, the brake light switch and the booster, because a fault here feels like a pad problem.

5. Written report and quote

Every measurement and photo, what needs doing now and what can wait. Free full inspection — written report.

Brake repair services we do

Brake pads replacement Dubai owners can verify: every job starts with a full brake inspection, photos and a written report before any work. See what we do and don’t do.

Pads, discs or both — how we decide

A pad is a wear item; a disc is a measured item. Pads are replaced near the maker’s minimum or when the sensor has triggered. Discs are replaced only when the measurement says so: below minimum thickness, deep scoring, cracks, or run-out that shakes the wheel. New pads on a disc still within limits saves you a part you did not need; new pads on a disc below its limit wastes the pads and leaves the braking performance where it was. You get the readings in writing and the old parts back.

Why brakes wear faster in Dubai

Stop-start traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road keeps the brakes working at low speed, which wears pads faster than motorway driving. Heat does the rest: a disc that runs hot in August traffic can warp, brake fluid absorbs moisture that boils under a hard stop, and dry caliper boots crack so the slides seize. That is why a brake inspection, with pad and disc thickness written down, is part of every scheduled service — brake maintenance here is more than changing pads when they squeal.

Car brake repair questions reach us most about Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and Range Rover, then Lexus, Jetour and American cars such as Lincoln. Petrol, diesel and hybrid cars are all welcome; on fully electric cars we do no battery or electrical work.

Brake pads replacement — quick answers

How do I know my brake pads need replacing?

The brake warning light, a metallic grinding when you brake, or a pedal that needs more travel than before. None is proof by itself: we take the wheel off, measure the pad and the disc against the maker’s minimum, and show you the numbers first.

Do the discs have to be replaced with the pads?

Not always. A disc has a minimum thickness stamped on it. Above that, flat and not cracked, it takes new pads; below it, scored or shaking the steering wheel, it is replaced. We measure every disc and write the reading in your report.

My brake pedal feels soft or sinks. Is that the pads?

Usually not. A soft pedal points to the hydraulic side: old brake fluid, air in the system, a leaking hose or caliper seal, or a tired master cylinder. That is a safety fault, so we look at it first and tell you whether the car should be driven.

Do you fit tyres while the wheels are off?

No. We do not sell, fit or rotate tyres. We do wheel alignment, and the report will say if a tyre is worn or damaged so you can have it changed at a tyre shop.

Is the inspection free, and can you collect the car?

Yes. Free full inspection — written report, before any work. Pickup and delivery are available within Dubai; if the brakes are not safe to drive on we arrange recovery through our towing partner during working hours.
